At Hanna & Plaut, our practice frequently takes us to Houston and we are happy that it does. Anne-Marie Abarado staffs our Houston office, but our Austin attorneys appreciate the frequent opportunities to visit, and not just for the Hruska’s kolache stop.  We like to eat and Houston has some great restaurants. If you are headed to Houston for the big game, here are some of our dining recommendations;

A unanimous vote for Hugo’s for brunch, interior Mexican food, and delicious margaritas. Anne-Marie also recommends their sister restaurant Caracol for great Mexican seafood.

Sarah recommends Roost and Backstreet Café, both good brunch options. Sheila adds that Tiny Boxwood is great as well. I have not been there, but I hear their cookies are delicious. Sheila also recommends (and  I second) Underbelly.

Eric adds that Barnaby’s  is great for brunch and he has “enjoyed every boozy meal” at Ouisie’s Table.

Legal assistant Lisa loves Tony Mandola’s.

Office manager Rebekah reminds us to give a shout-out to Uchi, an Austin original with a great Houston location.

Last, but not least, for good old-school Tex-Mex, I highly recommend Robb Walsh’s El Real Tex-Mex.
