Robert F Josey heads the firm’s workers’ compensation and administrative law department. For over twenty years Robert has represented insurance carriers, self-insureds and employers at the administrative, district court and appellate levels (including the Supreme Court of Texas) in claims arising under the Texas Workers’ Compensation Act. Robert is Board Certified in Workers’ Compensation by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and he sits on its Advisory Commission.
Robert has acted as lead counsel in thousands of hearings before the TDI-DWC, involving virtually every conceivable issue. Robert also has vast experience in Medical Dispute Resolution matters and Division Compliance and Enforcement Disputes, having successfully defended such cases at the TDI-DWC, the State Office of Administrative Disputes and on appeal to the Travis County District Court. He also regularly handles subrogation and third-party recovery claims.
In addition to tending to his active docket, Robert provides training to adjusters and employers throughout the state on a myriad of workers’ compensation issues, with a particular focus on EDI implementation and compliance.

Robert is admitted to practice before Texas state courts, as well as the United States District Court for the Western District and the United States Court of Appeals for the fifth Circuit.
Robert is a member of the Travis County Bar Association (Administrative Law, Health Law,and Workers’ Compensation sections), the State Bar of Texas, (Insurance section, Administrative and Public Law section, Workers’ Compensation section), and the State Bar College. He is also a member of the Workers’ Compensation Advisory Commission for the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.
Robert is Board Certified in Workers’ Compensation by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.
