Karla Huertas

Biography

Karla Huertas focuses her practice on civil litigation defense with an emphasis in insurance defense and bad faith litigation. Prior to joining Hanna & Plaut, Karla worked as an attorney for civil litigation firms in Austin focusing on first-party party insurance defense as well as litigation and appellate work related to real estate and contract disputes. Karla earned her juris doctorate from the University of Miami where she participated in a program that allowed her to study International Law in Italy, Turkey and Greece. Before returning to her native Texas, Karla worked as a law clerk in Fort Lauderdale, Florida handling pharmaceutical mass tort litigation matters. She is a native Spanish speaker and is active in Austin’s Hispanic community.
