Catherine Hanna’s practice focuses on representation of clients in appellate matters as well as direct representation of insurance carriers in connection with coverage and first-party bad faith actions. Catherine has represented insurance carriers for over 25 years and has extensive experience in coverage and bad faith litigation and appeals involving all types of policies. Catherine has expertise in claims handling and gives seminars regarding claims handling and bad faith.

Catherine is admitted to practice in Texas state courts as well as the United States District Court for all Districts in Texas and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Catherine is also admitted to practice in the State of California.
Catherine is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the American Bar Association, the Austin Bar Association and Travis County Women Lawyers Association. Catherine is a member of the Defense Research Institute and the Texas Association of Defense Counsel. Catherine is a Fellow of the Austin Bar Foundation and the Texas Bar Foundation.
Catherine is active in state and local Bar association activities and is a regular contributor and speaker at continuing legal education events. Catherine currently serves as an elected member of the Council of the State Bar of Texas Insurance Law Section.
A strong supporter of public education, Catherine has served as a volunteer in a variety of positions. Most recently, Catherine was an elected member of the Round Rock Independent Board of Trustees, including two years as the President of the Board. Catherine currently serves on the City of Austin’s Library Commission.
