Biography
Robert F. Josey has experience in all areas of workers’ compensation dispute resolution. He is Board Certified in Workers’ Compensation by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.
He regularly practices before the State Office of Administrative Hearings, the Travis County District Court, and the Texas Department of Insurance Division of Workers’ Compensation. Robert has represented a wide range of self-insured entities and private insurance carriers in a variety of insurance and employment-based disputes, including subrogation matters. Robert has also defended clients in numerous benefit review conferences and contested case hearings before TDI throughout the state. A primary focus of his practices includes medical review issues, audit violations and enforcement defense, Stop-Loss/Ambulatory Surgery Center/outpatient surgery matters, and medical litigation.
Robert is the firm’s representative at meetings of the TDI-DWC. He is well-versed in the education of both adjusters and employers and is certified by the Texas Department of Insurance as a continuing education provider Prior to joining to Hanna & Plaut, Robert was a partner in a boutique workers' compensation law firm in Austin, Texas, and was the longtime manager of its Medical & Compliance section.
