Biography
Catherine Hanna’s practice focuses on direct representation of insurance carriers in connection with coverage and first-party bad faith actions. Catherine has represented homeowners and personal automobile insurance carriers as well as primary and excess general liability carriers and workers’ compensation carriers. Catherine also represents insurance agents and brokers. Catherine has expertise in insurance fraud and has conducted Examinations Under Oath in connection with questionable claims. Catherine has expertise in claims handling and gives seminars regarding claims handling and bad faith

Catherine is admitted to practice in all Texas state courts as well as the United States District Court for all Districts in Texas and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Catherine is also admitted to practice in the State of California.

Catherine is a member of the State Bar of Texas (Insurance Section), the American Bar Association, the Austin Bar Association and Travis County Women Lawyers Association. Catherine is a member of the Defense Research Institute and the Texas Association of Defense Counsel. Catherine is a Fellow of the Austin Bar Foundation and the Texas Bar Foundation.
A strong supporter of public education, Catherine serves on the Executive Board of the Round Rock Council of PTAs. In addition, she has just completed her second term as President of the PTA of Canyon Vista Middle School and next year will serve on the Board of the Westwood High School PTA.
